Usage on power features
power=line
+line=busbar
- A busbarpower=line
+line=bay
- A bay connects an incoming circuit to a busbar assembly.
Usage on rail features
On many railway=*
features, this key indicates the name of the railway line in conjunction with branch=*
. However, the more widespread tagging convention uses name=*
and operator=*
. name=*
is also a tag for name of object in general so it is a clearly preferable tagging scheme. In some cases it may be necessary to create a route relation with route=railway
when the branch, line and railway service have different names.
Usage on bus features
Particularly common in Germany is to find line=*
on bus stops. Possibly a synonym to route_ref=*
(and by extension, the deprecated ).
