Mountain biking map-style for Norway and parts of Sweden

MTBmap.no is an OSM-based mountain biking map for Norway and minor parts of Sweden, created in 2014 by Ola Endre Reitstøen, involved in OSM since 2011 and mountain biking since forever.

The first mention of the map service is from 2014/08/11 in the Norwegian "Terrengsykkel"-forum [1]

The map covers all of Norway up to zoom-level 14, and in addition particular areas (among others Oslo, Trondheim, Oppdal, Røros and Verdal) up to zoom-level 16.

The cartography on the website is specially designed for mountain biking and is rendered with Maperitive. The MTBmap.no-maptiles renders mtb:scale and colours the difficulty of each route, as well as POIs for bicyclists.

The map also has layers for Strava Heatmap, Mapbox Satelite and Norge i bilder (Norwegian ortophoto) as well as downloadable maps and styles for use on handheld/bicycle mounted GPS and OSMAnd.

Map data is updated "once in a blue moon". [2]
