A tag for the ground elevation in the regionally common reference system. It works similar to ele=* with the only difference that ele=* refers to a global reference, while ele:regional is in whatever reference locally would be expected to be used. Therefore you can copy elevation numbers from signs without having to bother with the conversion or the reference used.

Units

Units should match the ones that are used on local signs. Such units can be added to the value, but it isn’t required; if no units are tagged, the value is assumed to be given in regionally common units.
