Problem Statement
There are many shops around the world that specialise in graffiti and street-art supplies, but there is currently no dedicated shop=* value for these shops.
Graffiti shops commonly sell products such as spray paint, stickers and graffiti markers. Some also sell clothing.
Currently, these shops may be mapped using more general values such as shop=craft or shop=paint, which do not specifically describe their primary purpose.
Proposal
I propose adding the tag shop=graffiti.
Rationale
Some graffiti shops are currently tagged as shop=craft. However, this value generally describes shops selling supplies for crafts and artistic activities, such as pencils, paper, canvases or crafting materials. These products do not necessarily represent the primary products sold by a graffiti shop.
Other graffiti shops are tagged as shop=paint. However, shop=paint is intended for shops primarily selling paint and related decorating or painting supplies. While graffiti shops commonly sell spray paint, their range is usually more specialised and may also include graffiti markers, stickers and other graffiti-specific equipment.
Some graffiti shops also sell clothing, which can be tagged with the additional clothes=* key.

I have comments but abstain from voting on this proposal. How prevalent is this store in Europe? I can practically guarantee this store does not exist in the United States, as graffiti is pretty much illegal everywhere. I doubt any data consumer would bother to use this tag if its so uncommon to have only 4 known instances, unless these are extremely prevalent with the incorrect tagging? --SherbetS (talk) 23:09, 13 October 2026 (UTC)
- Graffiti is not illegal everywhere in the USA. For example, there are legal graffiti walls. There are also dedicated graffiti shops in the USA, such as Montana Shop NYC, All City Legends and Montana Shop LA. --Evyy (talk) 13:27, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

I oppose this proposal. these seems really, really, really rare. Having main type + subtype would be better. Either as extra tag on shop=craft or as shop=something something= (shop=specialized_craft specialized_craft=grafitti). Having endless array of top-level values seems a dubious idea to me.
