Bus routes are mapped as a hierarchy of:

• Route Network
• Route Masters
• Bus Depots and Routes
• Bus Stops, Stop Positions and Ways

Route Network

A single Route Network relation lists all Madeira public bus routes. The members of the Route Network relation are Route Masters with no role. The Route Masters are ordered by the operator, followed by the number.

Route Master

There is one Route Master relation for each SIGA route. The members of a Route Master are Routes with no role. Typically, there are two Routes per Route Master, but there can be any number, including one if it is a unidirectional circular route. Note that circular routes that operate in two directions typically have different route numbers. Still, they are grouped as members of the same Route Master (referenced by the lowest route number).

The status of each map region is indicated by a symbol describing the type of feature and a colour indicating its completeness in that region.
