The tag amenity=music_venue is used to map a place where contemporary music is performed.

These rules are not definite, but some guidelines are: that it's usually indoors, only open when there is a concert, calls itself a music venue (as opposed to a restaurant, bar or nightclub).

If there is live music playing in a bar (bar) or pub (pub), use amenity=bar + live_music=yes.

Formal theatres for classical concerts and musicals are usually tagged amenity=theatre + theatre:type=concert_hall. Also see amenity=nightclub.
