A water hazard is a natural obstacle, such as ponds, lakes, river & streams, designed to add difficulty to a golf course. Usually marked by yellow stakes or lines, they are covered by specific rules.

How to map

Tag the feature with golf=water_hazard.

If mapping ponds & lakes, draw an area area around the ground and additionally add both natural=water & the appropriate water=* tag.

If mapping rivers, streams or ditches draw either a single linear way way and add the appropriate waterway=* tag, or as a polygon representing the banks of the feature and add both natural=water & the appropriate water=* tag.
