A 
milestone is a historic physical marker that shows the distance to the beginning or important destinations. They are usually made of stone, placed along a road. Milestones of abandoned railways can also have this tag.
How to Map
Add a node 
and add historic=milestone and name=*.
Tags to use in combination
- format=* squared stone, conus, obelisk, bell
- height=* height above ground in meter
- inscription=* what is written on the milestone
- start_date=#### (year)
- moved=yes
Please do not tag name="milestone" just to get it rendered!
