attraction=roller_coaster is used to tag roller coasters which are permanently located in one place, for example, in amusement parks, theme parks and other similar leisure and entertainment facilities. A roller coaster is a type of amusement ride that employs a form of elevated railroad track designed with tight turns, steep slopes, and sometimes inversions.
How to map
Draw a node at the center of the attraction. 311 roller coasters are mapped as nodes as of November 2019.
Other mappers draw the outline of the area of the roller coaster. As of November 2019, there are 530 areas mapped in this way. In this case, it has been recommended to map the extent of the ground area of a stationary roller coaster (including queues, buildings and fencing), rather than the outer limits of all the track, which may extend outside the attraction and cross pathways.
Some mappers draw a way along the tracks of the roller coaster. However, this conflicts with the proposal to map roller coaster tracks with roller_coaster=track. This method has been used 2800 times as of November 2019.
Add attraction=roller_coaster + name=*.
Helpful combinations
There is also a proposed tag roller_coaster=track.
If attraction=roller_coaster is tagged on a node or area, then you may draw the way of the roller coaster track and add roller_coaster=track.
As of November 2019, roller_coaster=track has been used 2800 times.
It is not recommended to tag roller coaster tracks with railway=*.
