Use barrier=log when a passage is blocked by lumber (usually a single tree trunk). This kind of barrier is often useful to sit on. Normally, cyclists can cross this barrier by lifting their bike over it.
Logs may also be placed along highways or areas to serve as barriers (similar to guard rails and fences).
How to map
Simply add the tag barrier=log to a node where the log is. You can also add it to a way representing the log(s) – if this blocks or restricts the passage of a highway=* or other way (e.g. waterway=*), such a line should intersect this way and share a node with it.
You can also add further tags using access=* keys to specify more precisely which types of vehicles or other traffic have reasonably unhindered access (or do not).
