| Tools for this tag |
A pedestrian warning indicates an area where pedestrians share a roadway with motor vehicles. Only use this tag when it is indicated by road signs.
This is different than hazard=pedestrian_crossing (Error creating thumbnail: ), which indicates an area approaching a pedestrian crossing where it is recommended to reduce speed.
This should not be confused with highway=crossing (
), a place where pedestrians cross a roadway.
How to map
Pedestrian hazards may be mapped in the following ways:
- Place a node
at the location of the pedestrian hazard traffic sign, tagged traffic_sign=hazard+hazard=pedestrians. - Tag a node
along a highway=*way
at the location of the sign - Tag the section
of highway=*where the pedestrian hazard is present.
