A road narrows hazard is a section of road where the carriageway ahead narrows from its previous width. This increases the risk of oncoming traffic straddling both sides of the road and reduces visibility ahead.

How to map

Road narrows hazards may be mapped in the following ways:

  • Place a node node at the location of the road narrows hazard traffic sign, tagged traffic_sign=hazard (or code) + hazard=road_narrows.
  • Tag a node node along a highway=* way way at the location of the sign
  • Tag the section way of highway=* where the road narrows hazard is present.
