| Tools for this tag |
This tag indicates that there is a traffic sign warning road users for roadworks on the road section. Drivers should be extra cautious: for example, current infrastructure may be unusual and there may be workers or work vehicles on or near the roadway. Road workers may not be fully aware of the vehicles around them.
How to map
Tagging can be applied to the affected section of road, as well as the location of the signage:
- Add
hazard=roadworksto a
traffic_sign=hazardthat warns for the roadworks. Alternatively, use a country-specific code fortraffic_sign=*(see below for examples). - Add
hazard=roadworksto the section of
highway=*where the roadworks occur. If the end of roadworks is also marked with a traffic sign, continuehazard=roadworksuntil that sign, otherwise use common sense.
