Use this tag to mark the position where trains stop at stations. It should be added to a node on a railway=rail way in order to facilitate routing software. It's usually located adjacent to a platform at the places where the driver in the cab stops in any direction. It should be preferably marked as two nodes with direction=forward and direction=backward (eventually, currently direction is not a common combination) respectfully.

This tag, of which there can be multiple instances per station, should not be confused with railway=station, which can only have one occurrence per station.
