Talk:Amsterdam

GVB

I had the intention of engaging in talks with GVB to acquire bus and tram stop data to import into OSM. Have never actually done that however. Someone inclined to take this on? May be a good topic for discussing on MappersBabbel 1

Where ?

Where will the Amsterdam mapping party meet take place?

Is there a place available to gather before and after roaming around Amsterdam?

I guess people could meet in real life first to agree on which areas to map. Also after the mapping, to get together and work on the OSM data.
I understand real life encounters aren't really necessary..

Well, the page gives a place to meet, so that's sorted. However, Amsterdam is not a nice place for cars. You can rent a bike for 2.85 for a whole day from www.ovfiets.nl . Although you have to join, this is free for holders of a NS-Jaarkaart, OV-Jaarkaart, Voordeel-urenkaart, OV-chipkaart or a OV-fietspas.

I'm most curious if anyone coming has done this before. It's going to be an interesting experience either way.

Hello!

I am not sure if I can come, but anyway, I was wondering if there will be some extra GPS devices to borrow for the day. My track collection only works on the car (Palm+USB thingy). If so, I could show up on Sunday...sorry for the late reaction...I haven´t been very busy in OSM lately...this would also serve to get me up to date with the "state of the OSM"

Sorry about that...just read in the questions that there appears to be 1 for loan...
