Importing ASTER_GDEMv2 data

column is named 'geometry' instead of way.

Maybe this info can be added here at the right place: "In the Aster script, the column is named 'geometry' instead of way." https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/23088/how-to-correctly-import-aster-data-contours-into-a-postgis-database --Aseerel4c26 (talk) 19:20, 9 June 2013 (UTC)

Also the style "contours-text10" is not defined - not a big deal as it's pretty obvious how the XML works - User:Tangotonyb 14:38, 18 June 2013

Renaming from "Contours" to "Contour relief maps using mapnik"

I'm going to move this page from "Contours" to "Contour relief maps using mapnik". It has been called "Contours" for a very long time but the actual content of the page has always been quite a lot in-depth technical details specifically (XML configs and bash scripts!) for rendering contour lines in Mapnik.

We have page called relief maps which gives a very high level view of the topic, describes different approaches (hillshading vs contour lines), and then links off to different data sources and technical approaches. So we need to make everything link back to that. I'd be tempted to swap the redirect Contours->relief maps at some point too, but maybe after this move has bedded in.

We also have another mapnik specific technical run-down called "Shaded relief maps using mapnik", so I suppose we could regard this page as sitting alongside that, although on the technical details of wrangling SRTM data, there's probably some duplication to resolve. Likewise with the SRTM page!
