The relationship between amenity=* and education=*

Currently, I don't fully understand the relationship between amenity=* and education=*. I have three hypotheses:

1. education=* completely replaces amenity=* for education-related features.
2. education=* is used to simplify or consolidate various education-related amenity=* tags into a smaller set of common tags, such as amenity=school or amenity=university.
3. education=* does not affect the use of amenity=*; the two tags are independent and can be used together.

Thanks for your reply! But If education=* will replace amenity=* for education-related features. I think the "amenity=bar education=yes" mentioned in proposal page seem to be a little strange. Daishu10000 (talk) 11:26, 23 July 2026 (UTC)
