The proposal sounds fine and is in line with what I expect the office=* tag to be used for. —seav (talk) 15:20, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

I suggest using operator= for the name of the company, as the name of the office could be different (e.g. they might describe one as their head office). HillWithSmallFields (talk) 18:13, 21 April 2014 (UTC)

Good idea. I changed it to operator. Kaldari (talk) 22:12, 23 April 2014 (UTC)

I see existing tagging as enough: office=yes, operator=[Water company name] access=customers website=[url]. In the age of the Internet I don't see any reason to ever visit such an office. Brycenesbitt (talk) 23:46, 24 April 2014 (UTC)

Sounds like you don't live in a developing country. I know water offices that don't even have phone numbers, much less web sites. Kaldari (talk) 23:24, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

In many countries there are different companies which deal with water supply (to your taps), waste water from your house, and ground water management. I suggest the tag should make it clear which one it refers to - "water_utility" could be any one of the three. office=water_supply, office=waste_water, office=ground_water ? --Csmale (talk) 17:42, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

I think water utility specifically refers to water supply. The second item can be tagged as office=sewerage or office=water_sewerage while the later deals with water conservation/management. —seav (talk) 21:59, 5 May 2014 (UTC)

Just a tiny comment: Like practically all similar POIs the water utilities' offices should also be "approved" to be tagged on areas (closed ways) as the tag could well go on the building outline of the office building or even the permises of the utility office. --JaakkoH (talk) 23:07, 5 May 2014 (UTC)
