Support

I support this change. It is better for the database to avoid duplication of tags. --ZeLonewolf (talk) 15:34, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

I support this change. --PeterPan99 (talk) 17:16, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

Editorial

When you say "depreciate", I think you mean "deprecate". The meanings are both negative, but quite different. It is an easy mistake to make. Please see: https://www.dailywritingtips.com/depreciate-vs-deprecate/ PeterPan99 (talk) 17:15, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

Yes, indeed. In french the word used is "déprécier", that's why I made a mistake. Overflorian (talk) 07:34, 15 February 2021 (UTC)

SomeoneElse-style rural pedestrian rendering

https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/tags/?key=diplomatic&value=consulate_general#projects lists SomeoneElse-style rural pedestrian rendering as one data users. I bet that they are not affected, but it would be nice to check that (@SomeoneElse:)Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 21:12, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

I checked with this render and both tags are displayed the same way. Try it out for yourself with https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/155494946 and https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/638432089 over https://map.atownsend.org.uk/maps/map/map.html
Yes - for most tags generally where there's a suggestion to "change X to Y" or "use X instead of Y" I try and render both X and Y. In this case I suspect the relevant bit is https://github.com/SomeoneElseOSM/SomeoneElse-style/blob/master/style.lua#L1552 . If people decide to use new tags for these things in the future, I'll expand that section. SomeoneElse (talk) 12:09, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

Bot edit permission

I think that you have already community acceptance for bot edit required by Automated Edits code of conduct (unless I missed some opposition to proposal of bot edit made on mailing list). And after fulfilling other requirements (wiki page documenting it, this may be useful as template, or something else also can be used as a base) I think that you may simply run bot edit - and that would be probably the end of this tag. Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 21:15, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

Thank you for this suggestion. Therefore I create a dedicated page https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mechanical_Edits/overflorian-mass-edits/consulate_general Overflorian (talk)

Abandoned?

Has the proposal been abandoned? The voting period ended over two months ago and so far nobody has closed the voting or started post-vote cleanup. --Recoil16 (talk) 16:28, 22 May 2021 (UTC)

Overflorian (talk) 17:09, 22 May 2021 (UTC) Hey, I'm not available for the moment but I'll do it soon, don't worry.
I have changed the status from Voting to Post-Vote, so that the proposal no longer shows up under Category:Proposals with "Voting" status. --Recoil16 (talk) 16:53, 30 May 2021 (UTC)
Overflorian (talk) I've now done the changes in OSM.
