Other codes for other purposes

As mentioned by others, QR code should be on another piece of information=* (not limited to information=board either}}, so this won't work. There was apparently a amenity=qr from Proposed features/QR code before.
For existing usage, there are 134 qr_code=*, 9 QR_code=*, 9 qr_code:url=*, and 3 checkpoint:type=QR-code (for tours) instances. Slightly surprising there is no payment:qr_code=*, only 29 payment:qr-code=*.

LOADING TAG LIST... (If you do not see this tag list, you need to enable JavaScript)
This table is auto-generated. See Template:Taglist for a documentation on it.

Aside from QR codes, there are other codes viz NaviLens DdTags used for visually-impaired guidance (QR code can be used for this too). To compare different aids, apparently information=audio_beacon was mentioned in Proposed Features/audio beacon to supplement information=audioguide. From this, I imagine it is easier to tag a facility has QR code in it (eg on the tourism=museum for exhibits, or *=station for guidance; similar to payment:*=*), than to add every sticker or poster with QR code. (Off-topic: There are also indoor bluetooth beacons for everyone)
Therefore we need to decide how to organize the tags on several attributes:

  1. Should NFC tags and other mediums be considered
  2. Existence of some code + code format in a hierarchy vs Exact code format used directly
  3. Code + Code-linked info (ie the qr_code:url=* example; 54 https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/?key=qr_code#values seems to be used for content directly) vs code + common info (ie your *=qr_code + url=*, if shown in both printed text and QR code; but they can possibly differ)

As a side note url_*=* numbered suffix is not good. Either semi-colon url=*;*, or in this case it could be extended to url:en=* + url:cy=* languages.

As usual when I make a proposal, the reaction is "oh, this topic is already so messy with the tags used inconsistently". I'm not even going to go there. The QR codes documented in the proposal are solely for tourism=information purposes, which is why I suggested the tagging like I did. I can only go by the eight examples I saw and mapped.
