The most logical tag would be

<tag k="amenity" v="nightclub"/>

Decision

I consider this proposal as approved. A discussion will happen later if necessary on whether it should be "amenity/leisure"="pub/nightclub/cafe"... FredB 20:31, 20 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Distinguish from amenity=bar

How to distinguish from amenity=bar? I added wishy-washy statement on there. -- Harry Wood 10:19, 29 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

In some localities I know of in the US, there are laws that require drinking establishments that serve hard alcohol and don't have kitchens to be membership only. Usually the membership costs are minimal (~$5). For these jurisdictions, nightclub is a fairly good clean category. Jumbanho 14:25, 14 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

Mapnik Rendering - Revived

I read about the missing mapnik rendering and inspected the trac a bit. I just found the ticket on this and commented it. I would appreciate any help to push this feature. http://trac.openstreetmap.org/ticket/2697 --Guerda 13:27, 18 May 2011 (BST)

I added different as SVG recreated versions of the accepted symbol to the ticket. Vote 4 it ;) --LetzFetz 20:18, 29 August 2011 (BST)

Template:Common tags to use in combination is problematic and should not be used, see its page and talk page.

https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?title=Tag:amenity%3Dnightclub&oldid=2211119#Optional_tags is not more helpful than listing this tags with explanation - especially, what is the point of empty "Map rendering" column? What is the point of tiny thumbnails? What is the point of this bloated template? Putting "Tool to test the opening hours format " on every page like you are doing is also a bad idea. It is not viable to document all QA tools on every tag page

@Rtfm: Please, read documentation linked above. Please reply here before reverting. Note that multiple people (not just me like you claimed here) are not happy about this template as it makes customization harder and is confusing for less technical people.
primary problem of Taglist template are display of pointless things including empty "Map rendering" column and pointless images
Though atrocious performance is also a problem. "switch from your modem to DSL, then it should work better" at 342 Mbps Taglist template often needs multiple seconds to display its content. Some serious benefits would be needed to justify this. Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 16:32, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
It will be a while before he can answer you here. User Rtfm had been warned that he would be blocked for one year if he participates in edit wars again. He decided to do so anyway, and so for the next 12 months he can only edit his user talk page. --Lyx (talk) 16:45, 23 October 2021 (UTC)Reply
