Emergency voice siren like objects

Also mention how to tag such equipment, when it mainly broadcasts spoken messages, not siren sounds. Jidanni (talk) 13:29, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

If the equipment only broadcasts a limited selection of prerecorded messages, equivalent to the signals on ordinary sirens, then perhaps emergency=siren speech_output:en=yes? On the other hand, a loudspeaker such as a PA system should probably be tagged distinctly from a siren. – Minh Nguyễn 💬 05:16, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

There are systems that do both siren sounds and voice. output:siren=yes, output:voice=yes ??? Warin61 (talk) 06:17, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Connecting to power=line?

The text now says " If it is connected to an overhead power line, connect the siren to a power=line way." However, the tag power=line is only used for major, high-voltage transmission lines, like those found on large lattice towers, usually in rural areas. Are there sirens attached directly to such lines? Perhaps power=minor_line is intended?

But neither type of line or minor_line tag should be used for the small cable that connects the siren to a transformer - these minor cables do not yet have an established tagging, and probably should not be mapped (since we would have one to every house, shed or minor building and every streetlamp). --Jeisenbe (talk) 02:05, 10 November 2019 (UTC)

They would usually be 'mounted' on a pole or tower or building. Maping there connection ... no. Warin61 (talk) 04:18, 11 November 2019 (UTC)

Revolving sirens

I recently reverted an edit that added animated=revolving as a possible combination, because the key animated=* is used with advertsising features only, and there are no instances of emergency=siren + animated=revolving in the database: https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/Ob1

Instead, perhaps a new key like revolving=yes would work to tag revolving sirens, if this is important. --Jeisenbe (talk) 07:00, 18 November 2019 (UTC)

Official testing schedule

Many sirens have an official schedule for test (for example, a townhall siren is tested the first Wednesday of each month at 12:00, for 30 seconds). It would be useful to tag this information in a specific format, e.g. test_schedule=We[1] 12:00:00-12:00:30.--Dani CS (talk) 11:55, 21 April 2020 (UTC)
