Why not highway=*?

How is this different from highway=path other than being located within the golf course? Something B (talk) 14:35, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

It's not different. Golf tags were created to map golf *specific* objects. Footways are generic. By this tag's logic OSM should have park-path, wood=path etc. Existing renderers & routers already work with highway=*. This tag is pointless & should be rescinded --DaveF63 (talk) 17:38, 20 October 2021 (UTC)
