It says "3/4". Maybe it means 217.75. Do I need to walk another quarter mile and find out what it really means, or can I just map what I see?

ref

Mention what to fill in for the "ref" parameter, else some warnings are raised in some editors. Jidanni (talk) 18:25, 27 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Throw away which side marker actually on info?

Left side, right side, both sides?

Many tracks, but just one marker: had better know what side of the train to sit on to hopefully see it. (Unless blocked by other train.) Jidanni (talk) 23:50, 21 January 2023 (UTC)Reply

indication:*=* prefix

Hello, more recently this year, a new prefix indication:*=* has been reviewed and approved to be used in combination with marker=*. It was merely intended for utility markers but looks suitable with milestones as well. The proposal clearly stated railway=milestone is not deprecated. Nevertheless, this prefix could allow to keep track of, sometimes complex, information read on those markers without introducing any new and too specific tagging or using less structured description=* or inscription=*. Keep it in mind for further developments Fanfouer (talk) 16:50, 28 June 2026 (UTC)Reply
