This value is a function, not a role

Hello, substation=* is defined as the role of the substation, among transmission, distribution or generation. This value is a particular function, among transforming, compensating which are orthogonal to the role. Those functions are present in many roles. Many years ago, a formal proposal was reviewed to set those functions in separate key we could combine to the actual role without altering it.
With such a value, I'm not able to set if the substation is part of transmission, distribution grids and it's not acceptable. It shouldn't be encouraged and should be changed please Fanfouer (talk) 08:04, 27 July 2026 (UTC)
