User:DYNAMIK/indoor-tagging

From OpenStreetMap Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

In the course of the DYNAMIK project, it turned out that Simple Indoor Tagging does not have the necessary granularity for preparing indoor map data for app development. Some of the existing tags, values and keys from the outdoor area can also be used for indoor areas. However, values are missing or would have to be extended.

Furthermore, DYNAMIK focuses on the integration of various groups of users to create a navigation app that is as barrier-free as possible. Consequently, accessibility is also a large part to be considered and will be included in the further specifications.

Below are two tables. Both tables are currently still in progress and are constantly supplemented and changed.

In the first table, example scenarios with their special features in the indoor area are used. These scenarios are then described with already existing tags and in the last column supplemented with possible extensions of these existing tags.

In the second table, these tags are described in more detail with possible values. in addition, it is indicated whether the tags add value to indoor mapping by being able to assist people with visual or mobility impairments. Explanations are also given there.

In the next table, the tags entered above are explained in more detail for supplementation. To indicate an assistance for people with visual or mobile impairments, the abbreviations ViP (Visually impaired Persons) and MiP (Mobile impaired Persons) are used in the table captions.

Übersicht und nähere Erläuterung der erweiterten / neu eingeführten Tags
Tag Values ViP MiP Erläuterung
door:handle=* bar_vertical/horizontal, lever_vertical/horizontal, "Wechselschloss", embedded X X Type of door handle; change lock=inside latch, outside locked knob, recessed into the door.

Proposed feature door:handle=*, can be extended by proposed values

heigth X X approximated height of door handle
surface=* tiles, hardwood, linoleum, rug, stone, wpc, boot_scraper, carpet, cork X X supplementing possible flooring for interior as values for the tag
wayfinding / contrast X Whether changes (color/type of pavement, etc) can be used for orientation.

Usefulness has to be discussed, can also be solved by mapping

door=* door:left/right=closed X X for door permanently closed on one side

could be linked to proposed feature door:wings=*

door:automatic=yes/no/button X X opens the door automatically, manually, by pressing a button

door=automatic is already in use, but as a key itself without more detailed information (e.g. if you have to press a button or not)

automatic_door=* is already proposed with a large number of possibilities

double X X for two doors directly behind each other

Usefulness needs to be discussed, as it is probably a rather rare phenomenon and can also be detected by a navigation algorithm

glass, wood, plastic X Explanation of the door material (because of light incidence, contrast, danger potential).

The most important thing here is that glass doors are a potential hazard for people with visual impairments. So you could also limit yourself to door=glass only.

door:opening=* X X Explanation in which direction the door opens

Link points to already existing discussion, probably has to be processed accordingly via the routing algorithm

door:direction=left/right X X Explanation if both/one of the door halves opens.

This aspect in the tagging of doors is difficult to implement, which is why a generally valid proposal for handling is still being worked on, discussions are already taking place here

door:contrast=no X Explanation of whether the door contrasts with the wall
threshold X X Threshold at the door → possible trip hazard/obstacle
swing, slide, rotate X X Opening mode
indoor=staircase

[wird aktuell intern bearbeitet]

staircase X Extension for Simple Indoor Tagging
stairs:lift=*

oder

ramp:wheelchair=lift [wird noch intern besporchen]

yes/no X Stairlift

Different possibilities (see first column) to connect the tag

left/right X Stairlift, side
keys X Key necessary?
contact=* contact:phone=[...] X X Add contact
information= counter X X Information desk is a counter

There are already older proposals/discussions on individual aspects, which will be considered, integrated and expanded in the further development of the tagging system:
