There is some controversy about what is the exact meaning of country. For the sake of clarity, only political entities listed on the ISO 3166 standard are to be considered countries.

border_type

(this is obsolete by "admin_level"? or not?) Current import of US states has begun to use an extension, border_type=* to give the name of the boundary's type. Currently-known values are:
