You know, I don't think this one passed
- This keys approval status is not clear: it may only have a majority approval of 6 votes, judging by the never-updated voteEndDate on the proposal page.
- If you're in favour of this tag (and re-doing everything in the OSM db), please could you take a look the the original proposal page and explain how procedure has been followed correctly? By my reading of the simple text of the wiki page, it failed to pass due to too few votes total within the advertised voting period. - For now, it is probably better to continue using amenity=hospital, amenity=doctor, amenity=dentist as these have widespread existing support. --achadwick 17:16, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Description
A key to tag all places that provide healthcare (are part of the healthcare sector).
How to Map
Create a node in the center of the building or property and tag it with healthcare=* or add healthcare=* to to an area that has building=yes. If you don't know what kind of healthcare is being provided, you can just use healthcare=yes.
Example
- for a node
healthcare=yes name=John Doe or healthcare=dentist name=Jane Doe
- for a building
healthcare=yes building=yes name=John Doe or healthcare=dentist building=yes name=Jane Doe
