taginfo box looks weired

Can the taginfo-box be removed?

I'd just add a reference to Key:shop, where you can find the taginfo box again. --Werner2101 (talk) 11:36, 25 May 2014 (UTC)

+1, the taginfo box should not be in this template. --Tordanik 13:50, 25 May 2014 (UTC)
removed it --Werner2101 (talk) 07:29, 26 May 2014 (UTC)

shop=vacant

I noticed you have reverted my recommendation not to use shop=vacant. I don't remember whether there was any discussion or other factor that triggered my edit. However, I still believe that shop=vacant does not make sense, and that the suggested alternative retains all of its supposed benefits:

  • the disused:shop key also avoids confusing other mappers
  • the disused:shop key also keeps the object intact and allows it to be reactivated if the shop reopens

For me, a major argument against using shop=vacant is that it contradicts the definition of the shop key ("A place selling retail products or services. "), as vacant shops don't sell anything. From a more practical perspective, it may be a good idea for certain applications to show all shops. With thousands of different shops, you really should be able to just filter using the shop=* key without having to deal with not-actually-shops. --Tordanik 19:31, 18 September 2014 (UTC)

I agree that shop=vacant makes no sense. I partially reverted revert to mention both views on the issue Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 09:14, 22 September 2014 (UTC)
Balanced description seems OK for the moment. Bit long maybe. There's general discussion of this tag over at Talk:Tag:shop=vacant -- Harry Wood (talk) 14:53, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
