Key:aerodrome:type

Currently there's an ongoing discussion in the wiki whether this key should be changed to aerodrome.

The key aerodrome:type=* has been used as an alternative to the older tags aerodrome=* and type=* to attempt to describe aerodromes and airports. Unfortunately, the different values of this key are not very well defined.

Software support

OpenMapTiles distinguishes several kinds of aerodromes based on this key. [1] OpenStreetMap Americana uses this classification to vary the aerodrome's icon.
