An area primary used for forestry activity that produces timber for humans to use.

This includes the areas where trees are growing, clearcut that the operator is going to replant, selective logging is taking place, the buildings used for forestry operations, the parking for employees and forestry vehicles.

This tag is one of those allowing to avoid the multiple meanings of the tag landuse=forest as explained in the page Forest.

How to map

Draw an area and tag it with landuse=forestry. If the extend is unclear or has not yet been surveyed, some contributors use a node despite landuse is about an area.

You may also tag the the wooded area with natural=wood and/or landcover=trees. this is orthogonal with the forestry area.
