Many cemeteries are divided into sectors for ease of management and navigation. Cemetery sectors usually have an identifier which is visible at the section and on the cemetery map.
How to map
To create a section of a cemetery, graveyard, necropolis:, draw the outline of the area of the sector and add cemetery=sector.

Tag history
The tag was rejected in the initial vote (see Proposed features/Cemetery sector), but is now in de facto, mainly across Europe. It is supported in some presets and some renders (see below).
Rendering
Cemetery sectors are not rendered by Carto (see open issue). They are rendered in OsmAnd and the Tracestack Topo style.
