This tag is used on route relations to map safari drives, usually inside safari parks, where visitors can take their car or attend a bus ride among free roaming animals.
How to map
Map the paths as ways and tag them as usual. Since this proposal mostly aims at car or bus routes mostly inside safari parks, highway=service will likely be the correct classification, though other path types are conceivable. oneway=* tagging is often applicable.
Then, add all ways to a relation with type=route and route=safari. Use member roles as usual for route relations. You may also add tourism=yes.
Add any other additional tags that might apply, like:
name=*access=customers(or any other applicable value)fee=*opening_hours=*operator=*- Transportation type specific access tags like
motorcycle=noorfoot=no.
Examples
- Serengetipark Hodenhagen is an example of a typical safari park with a drive through experience
- Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge is a wildlife refuge that features a safari experience without it being in a typical safari zoo
