In urban areas, it's especially common for overhead lines to be attached directly to a wall (also known as a rosette due to their ornamental shape) rather than a dedicated mast. Often times, such attachments only correct the wire for lateral movements or hang above the wires and should therefore be tagged with catenary_mast:supporting=lateral or head_span. However, there also exist other forms of wall mounter overhead supports e.g. a catenary_mast:supporting=cantilever attached directly to a wall (e.g. one in a tunnel).

Note that as counterintuitive as it is, overhead line rosettes are still tagged as power=catenary_mast since they function the same way despite the lack of a mast.

Disused rosettes

It's common for overhead line rosettes to lose their function as a support for overhead lines but entire removal of the rosettes is too costly for limited benefits if not prohibited by heritage. Which lifecycle prefix to use depends on how usable it is.
