I just bumped into this page. Can we move this content to Permissions? This page contains other permissions we obtained (look for the "translations"). --Tigerfell This user is member of the wiki team of OSM (Let's talk) 20:56, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

> Interesting to see other regions have been working on something similar. I'd actually prefer to keep it as it's own page so you can subscribe to updates for AU only, and keeps the page at a manageable size. The Contributors page is already very long and hard to navigate, and a global data sources page would be huge. Could we just add a link to here from Permissions? --Aharvey (talk) 23:45, 3 December 2018 (UTC)

Fair point. I have not thought of this one yet. Could we move this page to Australian data catalogue to align with our page naming convention? --Tigerfell This user is member of the wiki team of OSM (Let's talk) 20:36, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

Cleanup

@Diacritic: I just noticed you flagged this page for cleanup, was there anything specific you had in mind? I feel this page is pretty okay as it stands currently. --Aharvey (talk) 01:56, 18 March 2022 (UTC)

Hey @Aharvey:. I agree with you, this content is quite good and doesn't really need any improvement; it's been really well maintained. My intention is to merge the contents of this page with Australian Imagery Sources and Australian Resources, which are two pages which haven't been maintained and have some overlap with the content here. It would look something like this.
How would you feel about such a change? I'm aware this is maintained by the entire community, but as a major contributor it needs to be workable for you. Diacritic (talk) 02:08, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
@Diacritic: Merging in Australian Imagery Sources and Australian Resources would be good. The idea behind Australian Imagery Sources was to try and keep track of what's the latest imagery source in different cities. It was a request from the Microsoft Open Maps team who at the time wanted to ensure they were using the latest imagery. I'm not a fan of collapsed tables as you can't easily scan over the content, I prefer a simple table of contents to help with navigation like we have currently. I wouldn't have separate sections for Aerial Imagery and Data Sources, currently on this page they are all together and I think that's fine to continue. We could move the imagery sources to the top of each state table though, potentially with a separator in the table. --Aharvey (talk) 03:39, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
No Problems Aharvey. I'll make the changes and ping you when it's done. :) Diacritic (talk) 21:54, 18 March 2022 (UTC)
