Meaning of values?

What is the meaning of the suggested values: ship, airfreight, hauler? --Jeisenbe (talk) 23:07, 3 June 2020 (UTC)

The meaning should be which medium of transportation is used (airplane, ship, truck, other...). It might be that there develop more than the proposed ones from the usage in taginfo. Couldn't find any "usual" ones which fit better. Feel free to adjust them. rtfm Rtfm (talk) 00:16, 4 June 2020 (UTC)
If there are no usual values yet, then they should not be mentioned on this page without a definition. I understand that "airfreight" means "sent via aeroplane". What does "ship" mean to you? In American (and British?) English the verb ship means "to send or transport by ship, rail, truck, plane, etc" so it isn't specific. The word "hauler" is listed as North American English, rather than British English, and I've not heard it used on the west coast. If you want to define air transport, ground transport, or sea transport, you could use values like "air", "ground" and "sea", and that would be less ambiguous. To get more ideas from other people, including native speakers of British English, I would recommend asking about this on the Tagging mailing list or using the Proposal process.
