  • You list €600 for 500 stickers. What type of stickers are you thinking of? For the OSM Promotional Material Programme, I can get 1,000 52x52mm stickers for €21 from wir-machen-druck.de.

Hi Rorym thanks for the comment. We are basing the cost on €0.20 per sticker from https://www.stickersinternational.ie/. Then €1 postage for sending these out to keep up social distancing. We will likely not have an in person event this year due to COVID19.

Data vs Development

I have a bias towards building the OSM organisation, not building the database. The focus of this proposal is on rapidly capturing buildings, with incidentally some organisation building. I would prefer that to be reversed. From the history of this local chapter we do know it has exemplary community engagement techniques, so why not say that that is your focus up front and centre. Buildings are easy for beginners to capture, so that's what we will use to organise people.

AND, while I'm here, the Tunisian application wants a tasking manager. And you already have one that works. Could you comment, with some details of your tasking manager, on their application 'Discussion' section. (And add a copy in French, to be polite).

You're looking for Tunisian Application

Hi Craig.za thanks for the comment.

I think we chose the Building Ireland project because of the possibility of building the community. The ease of access makes this a great opportunity for beginners to join in. We felt the small tokes of our gratitude through stickers would help motivate people. But without in person meetings this year the scope the further grow the community is limited in person. But always happy to hear suggestions.

700 euro for ads

Are you sure that ads will be actually useful way to find new mappers? Mateusz Konieczny (talk) 17:54, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

The board sees the application for 700.00 to be a modest amount, which will allow our community, events, activities and mapping drives get a boost at specific times. Established members and newer recruits to the community tend to have an educational, vocational, voluntary or professional involvement in a number of areas which would tend to have traces of this content on their social media activity. Ads can also be geographically filtered to support an event location. At events held in 2019 it was noticeable that many participants had never heard of OSM before, so at the very least an awareness/better visibility will be created. Now that the community has grown a little more, and there is a current live task there are many more content resources to push. LinkedIn and Twitter ads leave posts up on feeds for longer, and are all charged per impression, click and action. We are hopeful this will lead to more contributors and engagement.
