aerodrome=international

If aerodrome=international should be an alternative, we should also create a wiki page. I think it would be good if we only use one tag for an object. But I would not prefer any to this point now. I just do not know how to get a valid decision, so that we tag something on the basis.--geozeisig (talk) 09:54, 31 August 2019 (UTC)

To deprecate one of the two tags we would need to open a formal proposal. I would prefer to open one for aerodrome=*, but I know you have spent a lot of time retagging aerodrome=* to aerodrome:type=*, so I would not want to do anything without your agreement. I agree that it would be good to get a standard tag so that we can add it to aeroway=aerodrome; this is a good example of where the Proposal_process is helpful --Jeisenbe (talk) 12:20, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
I would prefer a proposal. Also the form aerodrome=* would be ok for me. The values aerodrome=international, * aerodrome=regional, aerodrome=gliding, aerodrome=airstrip/airfield (...) should be proposed together. My English is not so good that I would do it myself. I always use a web translator. But otherwise I can support it. --geozeisig (talk) 12:44, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
OK, I'll work on it soon. I agree with the values =international, =gliding, and =airstrip. I also think we should have a tag for airsport and general avaition, similar to airfield. I don't really know what "=regional" means; it seems to be used for any airport with an ICAO and IATA code which isn't a big international airport. Is that about right? Probably that can be the "default" value for aerodromes with an IATA and ICAO code? --Jeisenbe (talk) 14:12, 31 August 2019 (UTC)
