Excellent idea. --KristianThy 09:09, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Seconded. I've just been trying to create segments for Manchester Airport, UK - but after creating segments for all the taxiways and runways - there was nothing.
Are you tagging ways or segments? I've got Sydney and Manila airport rendering OK on the slippy map when I tagged ways. MikeCollinson 02:42, 18 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
The other airport feature I'd like is that the current map features page just lists "terminal building" as a node object - can we extend that to an area feature? Richard B 13:03, 26 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
Good idea. I also wonder what folks are using to identify the entire airport by name. I've been using a single node with aeroway=aerodrome, name=XYZ Airport . MikeCollinson 02:42, 18 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
It might be useful to have a separate tag(s) for the iata or icao airport code... code=YXE,name=John G Diefenbaker International Airport or perhaps iata=YXE,icao=CYXE,name=... That would be more useful when the 3 and 4 digit codes aren't obvious... iata=MZT,icao=MMMZ Srw 13:42, 18 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The proposal is for an area tag value aeroway=apron.
