Deprecate aeroway=landingpad

There are only 4 features tagged with aeroway=landingpad, and these features seem to be just about identical to a launch pad. I recommend using aeroway=launchpad (or man_made=launch_pad, or military=launchpad) for both of these, since there will not be a verifiable difference between a launch or landing pad in most cases, right? --Jeisenbe (talk) 13:14, 13 April 2020 (UTC)

Please explain how a rocket should land on this construction ?
Launch Pad 39B.jpg.
It has already been discussed on the proposal page whether "one day" there's probably the rocket landing on the same structure, which will probably happen. Feel free to create a "combi_pad" or something similar, but currently these are two different kind of structures. Launchpad for suborbital civilian launches

There are (research) balloons and (civilian) rockets being launched suborbital. How to differentiate those from military=launchpad or the (currently defined) aeroway=launchpad for spacecraft (beyond the  Kármán_line) ? In the near future, there may also be touristic (high altitude) balloons

  • research=launchpad
  • tourism=launchpad
  • launchpad:type=* (examples}
  • aircraft:type (examples)
  • rocket:launch=suborbital (similar to spacecraft:landing=spaceplane for runways)
