Recommend deprecation, use established tag natural=dune instead

The tags natural=dune and natural=sand are more commonly used for the dune landform (natural=dune) and for areas of sand (natural=sand) other than beaches (natural=beach). The key natural=* is used for almost all landforms: eg cliff, peak, saddle, ridge, valley, dune, reef, shoal, beach, etc.

I'd recommend deprecating landform=dune. --Jeisenbe (talk) 03:11, 5 September 2019 (UTC)

Delete?

The page was marked for deletion, but the tag still has a usage of 255. I recommend reverting to version 1899497 and set the status to deprecated. --Tigerfell This user is member of the wiki team of OSM (Let's talk) 22:16, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

I made this page, and afterwards marked it for deletion, because Tag:landform=dune_system is a better description for an area with dunes.--Henke54 (talk) 09:21, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
Should we revert the page to https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?title=Tag:landform%3Ddune&oldid=1899497 and change status to "deprecated"? --Jeisenbe (talk) 05:35, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
@Henke54: I saw that, but the tag still appears in the database. If we delete this page there is no documentation of this tag anymore. @Jeisenbe: That was my intention. There is also Template:Deprecated. --Tigerfell This user is member of the wiki team of OSM (Let's talk) 08:07, 25 March 2020 (UTC)
