Unclear usage

This tag was indeed introduced with Belgian import but its real meaning remains unclear: we don't know if imported nodes represent a site/place involving among other things several antennas or actual individual antennas.
I agree with the current definition on this page: telecom=antenna should stay consistent with usual meaning of antenna and refer to antenna devices, not to radio sites (or masts/towers/whatever support).
It should not be used to describe a radio site for which tagging isn't clear currently. Fanfouer (talk) 12:04, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Hello, just for info, tag was existing prior to our import. It was chosen because it was documented here: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Telecoms and we were also aware that telecom group was suggested for telecommunication related objects. This was our discussion at the beginning of this year: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-be/2020-March/010949.html. For the unclear usage, we had the discussion here: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Talk:Import/Catalogue/ibpt_belgium_antennas --Vucod (talk) 10:09, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

It is really a bad tag which should be removed

I see no reason this tag mainly imported from Belgium should be a separate tag. It should either be removed or converted. OSM is not a dumpster.

Please clarify why usage of this tag is using OSM as a dumpster. --Vucod (talk) 18:19, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
Creating duplicate tags. Do I have to explain anything more? Still my original question, "What kind of antenna is not for telecom?" If there isn't an answer, why not keep using man_made=antenna? --CBRS (talk) 15:47, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

What kind of antenna is not for telecom?

Have you checked man_made=antenna? In fact, man_made=antenna should be revised first. It should no longer be used for any macro tower/mast because of man_made=communications_tower or man_made=communications_mast, but for any antenna deployed on building roof, on power pole, on street light as small cell and so on...The page still refers a picture of a traditional mast.

Have you checked the previous discussion? Tag was existing prior to our import. It was chosen because it was documented here: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Telecoms and we were also aware that telecom group was suggested for telecommunication related objects. This was our long discussion at the beginning of this year: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-be/2020-March/010949.html. --Vucod (talk) 18:19, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
I checked but it is too late. Why didn't you invite me into the discussion back to 2020? Apparently people in Europe fail to communicate with others around the world (I have tagged thousands of cell towers in US). "Tag was existing prior to our import"? It is an unconvincing reason because man_made=antenna has been there for years. "https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Telecoms" is just a poor page which introduces more issues. You were importing a tag not just for Belgium, but people elsewhere did not hear that out of talk-be list. These two tags must be merged because of unclear usage difference, and man_made=antenna needs to be seriously revised. --CBRS (talk) 15:47, 8 March 2021 (UTC)

"inside a building, add location=indoor;attached to a wall, add support=wall." I don't think any of these indoor features carrying value to the customers. Most of indoor femtocells are no different than "a wifi antenna of a router". -- CBRS (talk) 19:20, 6 March 2021 (UTC)
