All the examples show radio telecommunication antennas. However, would not a PA (public address) speaker mounted on a pole count, as it is used to communicate to those in the area in an emergency? See also: emergency=siren. Arlo James Barnes (talk) 22:12, 15 October 2018 (UTC)Reply

Building next to it

There is always a building next to the tower, housing related equipment.

Currently there is no advice on making a separate tag for the

  • building
  • area within fences containing the building and the tower

Indeed, the tower might be on top of the building, or nearby.

Should the user just use one tag for the whole mess? Mention on the page please. Jidanni (talk) 01:58, 23 November 2019 (UTC)Reply

The building can be tagged as building=service--Rassilon (talk) 04:18, 16 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes there is. telecom=*. -- Kovposch (talk) 19:40, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
There is currently no telecom=* value for such building hosting radio equipment next to towers. You can also use building:prefabricated=yes if the building is not build in place. Fanfouer (talk) 22:28, 24 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Concealed cell towers

Where I live all new cell towers are concealed. Mention how to note a cell tower concealed as a church steeple, vs. one concealed as a water tank. (Metal water tank actually silver colored plastic, bristling with antennas on the inside.) Jidanni (talk) 02:35, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

Indeed, the disguise is 99% of what we see, so we need a way of mentioning it. Jidanni (talk) 02:44, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
OK. Mention mimics, vs. concealed. Jidanni (talk) 06:15, 23 March 2020 (UTC)Reply
