Bioswales

A bioswale is a channel designed to capture stormwater runoff while removing debris and pollution. Bioswales can also help recharge groundwater, reduce flooding and erosion, and create habitats for pollinators.

Base tags I use for a bioswale are:

The latter two tags are suggested as alternatives to the bioswale tag that should help mark them properly on maps. We include them for now until bioswales are more widely recognized.

Bioswales may only be full of water some of the time; it's quite often the case around here! For those that only have water some of the time, add intermittent=yes.

If the bioswale is legally protected from public access, add access=no. And if you know whom the local body responsible for the bioswale is, add operator=* in a human-readable format.
