The builder=* tag is used to name a company, corporation, organisation, person or any other entity who build a building.
For the manufacturer of an object see manufacturer=*.

How to map

The builder=* tag should be used only with physical object, primarily with building=*. Some mappers use also highway=*.

Tags used in combination

• builder:wikidata=* - a Wikidata QID of the builder of the feature.
• builder:wikipedia=* - a link to Wikipedia's article about the builder of the feature.
• construction_date=* - indicates the date the construction of the feature was finished (suitable for building=*).
• year_of_construction=* - displays the year(s) of construction of a characteristic and can be assigned to different objects.
• start_date=* - date when feature opened or the construction of the feature finished.
• end_date=* - date when object ceased to exist (or will cease to exist).
• check_date=* - date of latest review of the data. Format: YYYY-MM-DD.
