Import of open data from Málaga City Council

This page is dedicated to document and coordinate the proposal of open data import from Málaga City Council. Daniel Capilla is the initial coordinator of this proposal. It has already been communicated to the local community and is currently under development. However, some sections of this documentation may be incomplete, depending on the progress of the preliminary work for each import. When the preliminary work for each import reaches an advanced stage, it will be moved to the community for discussion. This proposal has already been added to the catalog of imports in Spain (es) and to the general import catalog. Data source and license The data sets (es) to import are available through the City Council's Open Data Portal. They are provided in multiple file formats (CSV, GeoJSON, etc.) and are published under the terms of the CC BY-SA 4.0 Spain license. We have explicit permission from the Malaga City Council to add them to the OpenStreetMap database under the terms of the ODbL. The data sets (es) will be selected progressively, each import being documented independently within the general context of importof open data from Málaga City Council. See Import catalog (es) for a summary of the data sets already imported, in the process of being imported or in the preliminary work stage. For more detailed information on each data set, see Data sets (es). Software used For preliminary work on the original data sets, the QGIS program will be used. For the import process, the JOSM editor. We will try to work with small data sets that can be comfortably imported in one or a few sessions. If it is necessary to work with larger data sets that require splitting the work into smaller individual tasks or having the collaboration of a team of mappers, the OpenStreetMap Spain community tasking manager and its GitHub repository will be used to manage the import process. Checking and quality control The quality assurance tools integrated in the JOSM editor will be used to ensure the quality of the imported data, solving the errors that may occur and manually merging the new data with the pre-existing data using the "Replace geometry" function of the JOSM UtilsPlugin2 plugin. For data verification, a representative sample of each data set will be selected and its accuracy and veracity will be previously verified on the ground.
