1874: Under the Pangkor Treaty, the Sultan of Perak submits to the British Empire.
1925: Under the Treaty of Beijing, the Empire of Japan returns northern Sakhalin to the Soviet Union.
2016: A Party City store closes in Racine, Wisconsin, after nine years in business.
2021: Greece extends the maritime territorial limit around the Ionian islands from 6 nautical miles (11 km; 6.9 mi) to 12 nautical miles (22 km; 14 mi).
