Jump to navigation Jump to search

Mastodon is a distributed, federated social network that forms part of the Fediverse, an interconnected and decentralized network of independently operated servers.

Some real-life objects (such as shops) might display their mastodon-profile. This can be tagged with contact:mastodon=*

Mastodon instances

Join this instance for OSM-centric talk: en.osm.town maintained by User:Amᵃᵖanda / Mastodon user@amapanda@en.osm.town . English is the main language, but other languages are allowed too. (if you want to deploy other Mastodon related instances email Amanda for osm.town subdomains)

Or one of these for more general map-related matters:

  • mapstodon.space which aims at gathering cartography and geospatial professionals and enthusiasts

OpenStreetMap integration

Verified links

Mastodon supports verified links on your Mastodon profile, (using the rel=me link standard). You can add this type of links to your OpenStreetMap.org profile page, and they will shortly show as “verified” on your Mastodon profile.

OSM Wiki userbox

Use the {{Template:Mastodon user}} to include your Mastodon/Fedi on your OSM Wiki profile page.
