This proposal aims to provide a tag for parking locations of any kind of small road vehicle, apart from bicycles.
Current Situation
There are well established tags for parking of bicycles and motorcycles, but not yet for other kinds of small vehicles like the now ubiquitous electric scooters. This led to a vast amount of new tags:
- amenity=small_electric_vehicle_parking
- amenity=scooter_parking
- amenity=kick_scooter_parking
- amenity=skateboard_parking
- amenity=e-scooter_parking
- amenity=escooter_parking
- amenity=moped_parking
- amenity=e_scooter_parking
- amenity=carrier_bike_parking
- amenity=motorbicycle_parking
- amenity=micro_scooter_parking
- amenity=electric_kick_scooter_parking
All of these have in common that they only refer to one specific type of vehicle, while real parking places usually can be used by different kinds. Therefore, these should be combined in one single top-level tag and details can be added using the common tags for vehicle types.
Proposed tagging
- All parking locations for small vehicles (apart from motorcycles and bicycles, which already have their dedicated tags) should be tagged amenity=small_vehicle_parking.
- The kind of vehicles should be added using the established vehicle classes like moped=no, speed_pedelec=yes, bicycle=designated.
- Details should be added similar to the detailed tagging of bicycle_parking=*, e.g. small_vehicle_parking=rack.
