WikiProject Belgium/BE Quarterly Projects

The BE Quarterly Projects is a series of projects for Belgium mappers, announced every quarter on the talk-be mailing list, started in January 2016. A project strongly inspired by the UK Quarterly Projects created one year before.

Suggested process & tags

Tagging entrances to a school

• draw and tag the boundary polygon with a minimum of:
  • amenity=school
  • name=*
  • one of:
    • ref:xxxxxxx=* (French Community)
    • ref:yyyyyyy=* (Flanders)
    • ref:zzzzzzz=* (German-speaking Community)

• additional tags:
  • wikidata=*
  • wikidata:operator=*
  • wikipedia=*
  • website=*
  • phone=*

• add entrances
  • at least one entrance=main
  • barrier=gate where appropriate
  • other entrances where appropriate
• optionally, but preferably, draw the school buildings and tag building=school

Level

The level of education should be specified using isced:level=*.

Applied to Flanders

Flanders has an own education scale, VKS. The table below shows which VKS and ISCED 2011 levels are applicable for each school in normal education. You can map the VKS level with vks:level=* and the ISCED level with isced:level=*.

• Overpass query that finds all schools in Flanders and colors them according to presence of VKS and ISCED tags. The query takes some time to run.
